Crevoisier

Bio

Born in Delémont (Switzerland), Laurence Crevoisier studied at the Lausanne Superior Conservatory where, in 1997, she obtained her teaching diploma in violin in the class of Jean Jaquerod. She later took up the viola and joined the class of Christine Soerensen where, in 2000, she obtained first prize with honours in virtuosity.

In parallel with her participation in various orchestras (co-soloist with the Neuchâtel Symphonic Ensemble, reserve viola with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra and the Fribourg Chamber Orchestra, she regularly participates in numerous and diverse musical projects. She is a member of the Eustache company and teaches violin and viola in the Lausanne Conservatory of music (...)

Until 2017, she is violist of Barbouze de chez Fior quartet, who won in 2015 the Vaudoise Foundation Music Award for Culture, and has worked with artists such as The Young Gods, Christophe Calpini Pascal Auberson, Hemlock Smith.

She also participated in theater productions, on stage and as composer, and has worked with Christian Denisart, Nicolas Rossier and Roland Vouilloz. She is also co-composer of the soundtrack of "Curry Western" (directed Kamal Musale, release 2018).

Her passion for Indian music led her to explore new genres and compositions. She then had the chance to be tought by Dr. N. Rajam, India, for Hindustani violin. She also works with effects pedals and is interested in the most diverse sound textures.

Inspired by the Post-Classical movement, her first album « ICELAND » is now released uner the label Cezame Carte Blanche.
